wanted to tell us something

i thought it might have been 'fuck you' like shes been doing all month but i swam one and as long as i stayed down there i could breathe

so i figure maybe she wasnt AS mad anymore

people are getting sick and scaly along with it

bad month for squid tattoos

oh yeah got a side job doing tattoos but not just squids other stuff too

learning how to put protection in the ink

my place is good we have "wards" that seem to be holding off the worst of everything

you let me know if you need me to bring you anything

ive got some hookups with cookies and pies and those noodles with the sweet sauce 🍜🍜🍜

That's fascinating, so you mean to say that you were able to walk beneath the sea? If so, then that means there really are more areas of the Trench that even the folk here might not know about.
As for tattooing, it's an incredible art form I'd say! Definitely, not one for the faint of heart.
I'm glad to hear that you're doing so well. The matter of magic still has me at a loss, but if you figure a way to combine art with spells- let me know. I'll think about getting a tattoo myself....though of what, I'm unsure. What's your most asked for design?

there were all these ships
all kinds of stuff under there
was weird but cool
and im not gonna complain when its not trying to drown me

who knows whats under the rest of trench


lots of time to learn when i was locked up
mostly on myself but now its a whole new game

ppl want animals and gears and machine parts too
probably a toss up between those

shop gets it from the blood bank but idk how they do the magic
theyre the wizards what do i know i just have poison blood

i can do anything you want just about but im not as good at peoples faces
like portraits? not my jam.

i can even make it hurt less if thats a thing bc poison blood also makes skin numb as long as ur safe about it
tattoos with protection yeah but idk about art with spells tho i can ask around

i dont feel very magical im just faster and stronger but i did throw a dude rly far

Fascinating! I wonder what the shipwrecked crew had experienced. Perhaps they suffered at the hands of one of the Pthumerians. Who knows?

Tattooing yourself must be difficult. I mean, I guess you'd get used to the needle after awhile. Pain doesn't bother me much, though I hear that some people are simply afraid of needles.

I wonder what design, I'd get...maybe some kind of reptile. What was your first tattoo?

As for your last remark, maybe that's all it takes- raw energy to survive. Though I've been seeing that this world tends to give Sleepers more abilities than they have previously known. I wonder, could someone be playing with people as though a kid plays with characters in a video game?

Silly thought perhaps...but I can't shake it off...

me too. they were all so different. maybe a whole ship full of sleepers showed up a long time ago or went out looking for something and never came back

it was at first but its getting all the lines straight thats the real pain

like a snake or a lizard or maybe a dragon
i could do that sure
my first one was my name on my face

not that silly
why else would we keep getting these curses and tests and whatever other stuff they decide to throw at us
theyre bored or they think of us as toys
yeah games
maybe not all of them but most of them are assholes

The more we understand about The Trench, the better. Who knows, we may be able to uncover some secrets that have been kept shut for whatever reason.

A lizard or snake sound interesting. They can have those cool designs that wrap around a limb. Maybe, if I remember something more from my past I can think better. After all, a tattoo should be important to the human canvas, right?

I didn't expect that your first tattoo would be on the face! Isn't that a painful spot?

Hmmm...I like your input at the last line- 'not all of them have to be assholes.' I guess even among humans, other beings can be at risk of overgeneralization.

In other news- does anyone know how long the weather will be bad?

maybe some of the people that archive stuff
the ones that do all the history keeping and run schools?

i asked one of the blood ministers and they couldnt really tell me anything except it was real old
they used different words
but i probably dont know the right people

ha ha i usually make a habit of knowing the wrong ones
not always a bad thing

yeah yeah you could have a whole snake up one arm or a lizard on your shoulder with its tail curling down into smoke
or just a tail and no smoke

i think they should be important. not everyone does but i like them to mean something
im not going to judge someone if they want something just for fun but
i like the ones with meaning more

i guess it hurt maybe but i was too focused on other shit like
i wanted them to see my name so theyd know whose ass they were beating
and remember i was a person not a number

yeah i do it too. the part where i think people are all one way or another and im always wrong so im working on stopping that

that is another good question
we get a new moon soon so maybe it comes with new weather

The archives huh? That sounds like a good place to venture to. Especially with this storm! Sitting in a room and reading a ton of books. Though I always preferred to learn on field.

The lizard on the shoulder idea seems plausible. I like the smokey touch detail. I'll think about it but will be sure to let you know if I'll commit to the needlework!

Your first tattoo's intent speaks soundly. No one wants to be treated as lesser. Holding your name up front and proudly is good. It also helps yourself stay sure of who you are and that you won't take crap from anyone!

I enjoy discussing the Trench's mysteries. You may be right in regards to the lunar cycle. Though, what interests me the most - are the beasts. Have you came across any before?

On the other note, what sort of temporary tattoos are there? That's news to me!

Hmmm, does fighting beasts that used to be human...feel more difficult? I mean, I'm not sure but I think some folk may have a hard time with that conception.

I have yet to see a beast here. Though I've been trying to stay alert- from reading to talking with people about there experiences.

theyve got all kinds of ink. some that fades after a while that you use with needles and some that you just paint on like a stain

Hmmm...you do have a point. Though I think recalling some details may help with survival...

The art of tattooing is more diverse than I thought! I enjoy learning new facts. When the weather clears, maybe I'll swing by for a test design.

As for the beasts, I think your approach is more compassionate than others. I don't know what I'd do in such situations. Sometimes self preservation may make it difficult to want to save a beast. Yet, who knows? We are uncertain at hypotheticals because while in the action, our minds race in various directions.

May you prove to be one of the lucky ones. I'd hate to see you turn into a beast!
